I know this is to do near the internet. Is it just the hole at the pay for of the computer, can you also just use a usb port instead beside a different cord to connect to a modem? The 10/100 LAN Card doesnt mean that it can be wireless to the internet does it? Thanks.
10/100 LAN Card ??
What is a 10/100 LAN Card:
An Ethernet see adapter (NIC) that supports both 10BaseT (10 Mbps) and 100BaseT (100 Mbps) access methods. At startup, the card auto negotiates the speed base on the adapter at the other end and the hubs, switches and routers within between. All Ethernet cards today are 10/100 cards
Can you use a usb port to connect to a modem:
Yes, but this depends on the modem. The modem must have a usb port on it also. Connection this mode is slower than the 10/100 card.
Dose this mean it can be wireless:
No , if you want to connect wirelessly afterwards you need a wireless see adaptor instead of the 10/100 card.
If this is for a laptop it might be built in to the computer already.
the lan card will individual accept a lan cable rj45 plug...I could budge on, but no, you can't use a USB
Your lan card is just a wired NIC- see interface connection- into your pc...you could any use the usb input or nic jack, it depends on the modem- they will both end up doing indistinguishable thing...brand sure you have the proper drivers installed for any of them. (Also, You would need a wireless card, or wireless USB dongle to set up a wireless system.). Whatever selection you want.thanks
