Added 4GB RAM to 2GB originally, System say one and only 3.25 GB RAM. How is this possible?

I enjoy a Dell Inspiron 530s with 2GB RAM. I added the following: pqi TURBO 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory. My Motherboard have 4 slots. The original strike took up two of the four. I added the other two. Shouldnt it be 6GB total now?

Technical specifications for Memory on the Dell Inspiron 530s is Up to 4GB Ram. It is rather likely your motherboard is incompetent to recognize the amount of strike installed. The fine print also states: The total amount of usable memory available will be less than 4GB, depending on actual system configuration.
Sounds to me similar to one of the 2 gb stick is not being renowned . Could be one of the sticks is bad but to rule that out try this:

Take the exotic ram out going away the original 2gb stick surrounded by place and boot the system. If it boots sucessfully then it see the ram. shut down and replace one of the newer sticks, keeping the innovative stick in place. Boot up again. If it boots again check to see what it say as far as the amount of ram. Shut down again if it is reading correctly and make the addition of the other stick and boot again. You may just hold to keep taking out and putting surrounded by to see if its just the run into itself
