At startup, my cd and dvd RW's work fine. But, when discs are inserted, my laptop doesn't endorse them. Why?

probably stipulation to update drive or get a dvd rom cleaner. my comp is doing that very soon and i need a cleaner. to update, stop by computers website searching the support subsection for driver updates.
I presume you mean BLANK compact disc or DVD-RW's?



I never, ever use RW's. Not all drives will read an RW. Wish I know why. I only use CD-R's or DVD-R's. And even later, I occasionally run across a certain brand that my drive doesn't similar to and will not recognize or write to.



So, I'd recommend at smallest trying a CD-R or DVD-R. That way, you may be capable of determine if its a problem with the medium itself, or the drive.
