Anybody know what gbUpdate.exe is? every presently and after this take over 99% of my cpu size and runs & runs

That's the QuickBooks updater. The reality that it takes so much processor simply ability it wasn't coded all that powerfully.
qbupdate.exe is a process by Intuit which checks for software updates relating to Quickbooks. This program is a non-essential process, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems.
It is conspicuously an executable (.exe) file. When it runs and shows you nought positive it is safe to play near it before you delete it, here's how:



Find out where on earth it is located, right-click on it, rename it to gbUpdate.xxx (no quotes) and save it.



Reboot, if you enjoy trouble, reboot into safe mode next rename it back to gbUpdate.exe (no quotes), store and reboot.



I don't think you'll own a problem. It sounds to me like an executable from an applicaton that requests the complete program to run properly, it doesn't have it, so it really is lost surrounded by computer land.
